リゾート地とは縁のない私なので、バリにヴィラを所有する知人に、ビーチの水着事情を聞いてみた。
「水着はほとんどビキニで、ワンピースを着ている人がいると変な感じ。
外国人女性は、年齢も体型も関係なく、カラフルなビキニを着て堂々としているのに、日本人は、若い女性でも、水着の上から何か羽織ったりして、肌を隠すのはなんでだろ？ものすごく違和感がある。」そうだ。
確かに、皆が肌を出している場所で、変に隠そうとすると、逆にイヤらしい感じがするんじゃないかな？と想像できる。
私自身、豊満な高齢女性がビキニを着ていても、全く気にならないのに、自分が着るとなると気後れするのはなんでだろう？
一番は、着慣れているかどうか、かな？着慣れてないから、オドオドして見える。
ビーチで、ビキニを着たプロポーション抜群の女子がいたら、女子だって目が釘付けになるが、その他大勢は目の端にも止まらないだろうから、他人の視線を意識する必要はないし、殊更に意識すると悪目立ちするだけだろう。
私は、日本人女性が、他人の視線を必要以上に意識してしまう原因の一つは、日本のおじさんの言動にあるんじゃないか？と思う。
私の感覚では、大阪の60歳以上のおじさんは、自分のことは棚に上げて、女性の容姿について、とやかく言い過ぎる人が多い。
こういう人も、時代とともに淘汰されるかな。ぜひ、そうであって欲しいわ。
ああ言う言動は、女性を萎縮させる。だいたい「オバハン」と一言でくくるのがどうも気に入らない。
でも、大阪だと、逆に開き直ってしまった女性も多いかな？
それと、水着姿は問題なくても、水着を着てそれはちょっと〜という身のこなしもある。大股を開いて座ったり。そこは、他人の視線も気にするところじゃない？
ビーチでは水着を着るのが普通なんだから、複雑に考えず、自然体で楽しめばいいんだろうね。
日本の夏は高温多湿で、海でも快適かどうかわからないが、今度、海に誘われたら、とりあえずお誘いに乗ってみるかな？

I asked an acquaintance who owns a villa in Bali about the swimsuit situation of the beach.

It is normal to wear swimsuits on the beach, so you do not have to think complicated and you just have to enjoy it naturally.
It is hot and humid in summer in Japan, and I do not know whether it is comfortable even in the sea. But, if I get invited to the sea next time, will you try going to the tea ceremony? Have a bikini!
